Would you like a job where you're installing a server in the morning and reconfiguring email on an iPad in the afternoon? Do you know your TCP/IP from your Ethernet? Can you set up a Windows server from an Ubuntu desktop? Well then maybe this is the job for you.

 

Responsibilities:

Working with a diverse range of clients you will be helping with their day to day maintenance issues, troubleshooting problems and finding new IT solutions to their business needs. You will be responsible for planning and setting up new systems, documenting procedures and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

The work is varied and plenty of training will be given. From Windows server to a Linux desktop and everything in between. Configure email on an iPad or set up remote access to the office through an Android phone. The job will take you all over the lower mainland to clients offices and computer rooms. Experience counts but a can do attitude is vital here. You'll need to work well on your own onsite as well as in part of a team on larger projects.

Technical Requirements:

 

  • 2 - 5 years related work experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2008 and Desktops (XP and Windows 7).
  • Basic network experience, TCP/IP, Wifi etc.
  • Experience with building PCs would be a plus.
  • Email server experience, Exchange etc would be a plus

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have a full clean drivers license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, team and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-direction and resourcefulness.

 

Desireable Qualifications

 

  • Degree / Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • MCP / MCSE qualified.
  • CCNA / Network + qualification.
  • Experience with Remote Management and Monitoring System (Kayesa, Labtech, N-Able etc).

 

Salary will depend on experience but it also includes a health plan, cell phone (or allowance) and a car (or mileage expenses).
